Studies show that children whose parents are involved in their education perform better at school. The PTA is an excellent way to get involved in your child's education, as well as set an example of community and involvement for our children! There are MANY ways to get involved.

Monthly Meetings

One of the best and easiest ways to stay involved in your child's school, meet other parents, and support the PTA, is by attending a monthly meeting!

Volunteer Opportunities

• Food/décor setup/cleanup for programs (Christmas, Graduation)
  
• Class Parties (Christmas, Valentine’s Day)
  
• Family Events (Harvest Party, Dance, Year-End Activity, etc.)
  
• CALS Class: helper/assistant
  
• CALS Class: teach a craft/hobby
  
• Field Trips/Activities: chaperone willing to transport other students
  
• Field Trips/Activities: chaperone (no student transport necessary)
  
• Recess Monitor
  
• Lunchroom Helper
  
• Reading Helper
  
• Bus Load/Unload Helper
  
• Student Dismissal Monitor/Crossing Guard

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers will be required to do the following before commencing volunteer work:

• Fill out a Volunteer Application. To download and print, click HERE.
• Read the Volunteer Handbook and sign the Acknowledgment Page. To download and print, click HERE.
• Fill out an Acknowledgment of Mandated Reporter Status (DCFS Form CANTS 22). To download and print, click HERE.
• Fill out an Authorization for Background Check (DCFS Form CFS 689). To download and print, click HERE.
• Complete online training for mandated reporters. To visit the training site, click HERE.
• Attend a volunteer orientation meeting. Please contact our PTF Chairperson below to schedule an orientation meeting.
